Dartlo Village

Dartlo (დართლო) is a village located in the Akhmeta municipality of the Kakheti region of Georgia. Dartlo is located in the mountainous region of Tushetia, in the valley of the Alazani River on the northern slope of the Watershed Range, at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level.

The village of Dartlo is located in the historical geographical mountainous region of Tushetia, in the northeast of Georgia, the region is represented on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dartlo is on the right bank of the Didihevi River at its confluence in the Pirikitelskaya Alazani. Through the village, there are several tourist routes of the National Park Tushetia: from the village of Omalo through the village of Dano, to the fortress of Kvavlo; From Omalo to Dakuehi and from Omalo to Verkhovany. The tourist season is limited to the availability of the village only in the warm season – from early June to mid-October. In Dartlo, several family hotels are open.

Dartlo – one of the oldest settlements in the region, a monument of cultural heritage of Georgia, declared an architectural reserve, stands out for its unique architectural ensemble consisting of stone houses covered with stone tiles, which are fortresses with attached watchtowers.
