The name itself speaks about himself, “tbili” – which in Georgian means “warm”.

Tbilisi – the pearl of the Caucasus, the capital of a small, but very proud country – Georgia.

Streets and buildings in the city remembers both good and bad moments in history for centuries. The surviving buildings and historical monuments appear militant and triumphant, though if they are about anything you ask, they will begin the narration.

According to legend, the city was founded by King Vakhtang Gorgasali. On the royal hunting falcon caught a pheasant, and under the weight of his burden fell into a hot spring. Both birds in the blink of an eye cooked in boiling water. After the incident, the king ordered to lay in this unusual location city. Already in the Middle Ages, Tbilisi (then it was called Tiflis) was well known both in the East and the West, since Georgia became a trading center.

Then- then the birthplace of the famous aphorism of the time: “The key to the Caucasus in Tbilisi.” However, this favorable position has caused endless wars: dozens of times Tbilisi was burnt and destroyed, but each time it rose from the ashes.
